G.W.R Ground signals

A Sidelines O gauge kit-build.
~~~
Above can be seen the spectacle plate from which the push rod hangs down from the right of the main rotary spindle axis. The weight central spindle can clearly be seen.
The rear view showing the chain pulley, the weight will pull it taut again on "STOP". Also the rear lamp blanking plate can be seen. Here we get a better view of the central rotary spindle axis, and behind can be seen the special supplied pin with head for the wire looped push rod to be bent to shape.
A better view of the front showing the central spindle axis, and weight central spindle.
I found it would be better to spray paint the model next time as the paint ran into the spindles and stuck everything together !!! BE CAREFUL when painting-not too much! or add a pin head of oils to the bearings before painting. I added afterward which made it a lot better .
Some weathering powders were added for light rust.
A very fiddly kit to master but well worth the effort, now to work out a point connection mechanism. ????
Addendum
Here it is I’ve worked out a method
Above:- Here you can see the way I built the mechanism
The point end is similar but laid flat
The tolerances are quite fine
Set to clear
A bent dressmakers pin acts as a pushrod, this system works very well and will be quite unobtrusive when painted slate grey.
At last - working ground disc signals…
Happy modelling
