The old signal box

This is an old model of mine but it is a good start to a blog .
I need to get the hang of this blogger so please bear with me
Bourne west signal box.
I started with some sketches and then made some plans.
Next the cardboard was measured and cut, balsa placed on top scribed freehand with the back of a scalpel

The window frames were quite a task involving mortice and tenon joints with holes pre drilled for the wires.

The model is now given a coat of black for contrast, then DRY brushed with colour to give a good weathered OLD WOOD effect

The staircase is added.

The interior has been fitted with so many details, the table is balsa, the levers are wire with a balsa base, the tools are castings, the map on the wall is by yours truly. the chair is clay and another fine looking casting is the brazier.

And the roof is cardboard with thick paper slates added
The chimney is brick embossed plasticard.

The roof is covered with green scatter to give a mossy look to this old worn out box.
